The One-Armed Swordsman (1967)

The story of the son of a servant who was taught swordsmanship by his fathers master. He looses his arm when the other jealous students cut it off. I haven’t seen the main guy in this in anything else. He looks kinda odd very plasticish its hard to say really, he just doesn’t look alive. It might be the eyebrows that throw me off. And he acts like a whiny baby for a really long time when he is trying to cope with loosing an arm. Then stuff happens he gets better and so on.

I’m not a huge fan of the Hong Kong swordplay martial arts movies. They don’t seem to have the energy like in similar kung fu movies and this is no exception. The action is kind of slow and looks hokey. I felt bored a lot of the time. I don’t know if I’d recommend this to anyone other than hardcore Shaw Bros fans. Its well shot just a bit too long and slow.
